Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching taxation courses at the bachelor’s and master’s level.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and promote student engagement.
- Provide high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programs within a Hybrid Education setting.
- To contribute to the development, design, delivery, and leadership of modules at various levels, including assessments methods, ensuring that the learning materials and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and organize all instructional materials.
- Evaluate and grade projects/examinations and track student progress.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with industry standards and meets accreditation requirements.
- Provide academic advising and career guidance to students.
- Ensure continued relevance to the needs of students, examining awarding bodies, and our aims and strategic objectives.
- Stay current with developments in the field of taxation through continuous professional development.
- Engage with professional organizations, attend conferences, and network with industry experts.
- Contribute to the development of specialist teaching and learning provision, including short courses, in finance, accounting, taxation and associated disciplines.
Required Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
- Proven excellence in teaching, with the ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective finance courses.
- Ability to teach and examine courses at all levels – undergraduate, master, and higher research degrees.
- Proficiency in using a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, enabling the teaching and mentoring of students in these evolving fields.
- Willingness to stay updated with technological advancements, industry trends, and educational best practices.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to enhance teaching and research capabilities.
Education and Experience:
- A doctoral-level qualification in an area of academic relevance to the work of the Department. (OR)
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, taxation, or related discipline.
- Relevant Professional Experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to explain difficult concepts in an understandable way.
- Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
